Yokohama-ARI agreement expands tire choice for fleet customers
LANGLEY, B.C. (August 31, 2010) – Canada’s largest fleet management organization will make Yokohama premium car and light truck tires available to its customers and their 135,000 vehicles through an agreement signed here by the two companies.
The agreement between the Canadian operations of Automotive Resources International (ARI?) of Mississauga, Ontario, and Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. will permit the drivers of ARI-managed vehicles to specify Yokohama tires for replacement and winter service through authorized Yokohama tire dealers across the country.
ARI is the largest fleet management organization in Canada with a fleet under its administration that is larger than the second- and third-largest fleet companies in the country, combined. The top three fleet managers represent an estimated market of 500,000 replacement tires annually.
With regional offices in Montreal, Ottawa, Calgary, Edmonton and Vancouver, ARI administers fleets for a broad portfolio of business, government and institutional customers, serving virtually every industry sector and region of the country.
“This is more than welcome incremental business for our dealer partners, who will see additional traffic and volume from this alliance,” explains Jonathon Karelse, national marketing manager for Yokohama Canada. “It’s also another important corporate partnership for Yokohama Canada that contributes to a balanced and diversified customer base that includes tire retailers, new car dealers and fleet customers. Building strong partnerships at every level is a key corporate objective for Yokohama in Canada, and we look forward to the ARI relationship as a foundation partnership.”
Drivers of ARI fleet vehicles not only benefit from the additional choice offered by the Yokohama premium line, they gain the added convenience of including their tire purchases as part of their vehicle service at authorized Yokohama dealers.
New Jersey-based ARI has more than 60 years of successful, continuous operation managing more than 2,000 customer fleets (over 700,000 vehicles) in North America and, combined with partners, more than 1.5 million vehicles globally.
Yokohama Tire (Canada) Inc. markets and distributes a full line of tires for high performance, passenger car, light truck, and commercial truck applications, as well as off-the-road tires for mining, forestry and construction applications. It maintains distribution centres across Canada to serve more than 700 independent tire dealers and more than 2,000 retail locations.
